Israel Collection
Sneak Peek of Letter Art Coming November 2009 During June 2009, the Letter Your Legacy family took a trip with friends to the country of Israel. On this trip we had the great opportunity to extend our collection of letter art from across the globe. As you know, we have already taken letter pictures in the United States, Europe, as well as Mexico, and we found so many interesting photos in Israel that we decided to make an entire collection out of them. The history, architecture, landscape, and character of this country are absolutely remarkable. Those remarkable aspects of the land of Israel combined with a love for looking through the lens, are what made searching and discovering letter photos a fun adventure during this educational getaway. Here is a sneak peek of some of the letter photos we were able to capture in Israel.
This letter photo, depicting an “E”, was taken in the town of Nazareth at a tourist location known as “Nazareth Village”. Because Jesus was from Nazareth, a group of historians set up a live representation of what the town would have been like in the 1st century. It was very interesting to see the types of garments people would have worn, the tools they would have used, and the professions they might have occupied. This particular letter art photo is an example of an agricultural tool similar to a rake or pitch fork.
Israels landscape is nothing like what we see here in the USA. It quickly changes from desert to vegitation. This letter photo was actually taken of the top of a boat in which we journeyed across the Sea of Galilee. The captain of the boat raised the American flag and the Israeli flag, which can be seen to the left and right of the “T”. We took this boat ride on a beautiful clear day, so we were able to see all of the historical locations that surrounded the sea. One interesting fact about the Sea of Galilee is that it is actually not a sea at all; It’s a lake! It was an amazing opportunity to ride across a body of water where so much history happened on and around it. We were on the same Sea of Galilee where Jesus and Peter walked on water. It was a truly breathtaking view.
This letter photo of a “B” is actually taken of two tombs located about halfway down the Mt. of Olives. These tombs were often placed in small caves, which are riddled throughout Israel’s limestone terrain. The tombs on the Mt. of Olives are the most prestigious place to be buried in all of Israel because it overlooks the Temple Mount. Being here was a great reminder of the ancestors that paved the way for Jews and Christians alike. Our trip was truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and we are so glad that we walked away with a new world perspective, special memories, bellies full of Mediterranean food, and of course, an awesome letter collection. We are thrilled for Letter Your Legacy customers to be able to design their custom framed letter art with our new photographs, full of history and beauty. Well that is all the sneak peak you will get. Check back in the beginning of November to see the whole Israel collection. Click Here to Design Your Own Letter Art!
