    Letter Your Legacy Website Changes

    Monday, October 26th, 2009

    Hey Letter Your Legacy Shoppers,

I just wanted to give you all a little heads up about a recent change on our website.  If you frequent our website to check out our unique black and white letter photos, you may have noticed the links at the bottom of the site taking you to other products like canvas boards, premium frames, sports frames ect.  We have recently taken those links OFF of the website.  Those links were there to take the shopper to our other website, Letter Keepsakes, for those other products.  However, we feel that might have been confusing for some first time shoppers looking for black and white letter photos to frame their name.  So, my point to all of this- if you are wanting to design a canvas or premium frame with our black and white letter photos, you will want to go to www.letterkeepsakes.com.

Not sure what I’m talking about? Here is an  image to help explain…

    Canvas Board

    Canvas Board

This is an example of a canvas board that spells “Smith”.  As you can see, the black and white letter photos aren’t framed. but they are printed and streched on canvas.  These are an awesome choice for the person who likes a different look to the traditional frame.  The black and white letter photos are also larger on these- they are 6×6 instead of 3 1/2x 3 1/2.  So if you are wanting bigger black and white letter photos, go with a canvas board from www.letterkeepsakes.com.

On Letter Keepsakes, you can also change our black and white letter photos into sepia photos.  This looks great if you already have some sepia photos in your home.  This can be done for the canvas boards and the framed names.

I hope you all enjoy shopping at our two different websites!  We have such a variety of frames, sizes, and black and white letter photos that you are sure to find exactly what you are looking for.

What Do You Call Letter Art?

    Friday, October 23rd, 2009

    Hi Everbody,

So I’ve got a little question for our readers out there and I would LOVE some feedback.  One of the most frustrating things about our product is how to label it…It’s not as simple as something like “sweaters, tires, dog food, toilet paper, etc.”  It’s always tough to explain what we sell to someone who has never seen it before.  People often ask me, “Where do you work?” This is typically my response, “Ummm… I manage a business where we take black and white pictures of things that look like letters and frame them to spell out a name or word, and we sell them online.”  The fact is that most people wouldn’t know what I was talking about if I told them we ran a business selling customized photographic word art.  I’m often jealous of my husband who gets to answer that question with, “I’m a banking officer.”

So what’s the point of telling you all of this?  I want to know how you would describe our products to someone else! If you were seaching Google or Yahoo for what we sell, but didn’t know our company name, what would you type in the search engine?

Whatever you call it, you are going to love purchasing a framed name from Letter Your Legacy.  The nice thing about these products is that they don’t need to be explained when hanging in your home.  Everyone who enters your beautiful home will immediately love the framed name that you proudly display to show your appreciation for your family heritage.

If you have a minute, let me know how you describe our product! Thanks for shopping at Letter Your Legacy.

    Hi All,

The Letter Your Legacy staff spent the last 4 days at a trade show in War Eagle, Arkansas.  It was a great show and we were pleased with how many people loved our pictures of letters.  This is our second year to attend War Eagle and we did just as great as last year!  We had many people come up to our booth and tell us that they had bought one last year and still love it.  It’s always great to know that people love our frames and pictures of letters.  If there are those of you out there who have never been to a trade show before, I would highly encourage you to attend one in your area! There is sure to be one nearby within the next month or two.  The month before Christmas is always the best time to go to trade shows.  Just remember, Letter Your Legacy offers the highest quality and the best prices for framed letter art!  You can always shop online any time, any day.  Check out our pictures of letters today.

I’m sure many of you have purchased from Letter Your Legacy before and have loved using our interactive design tool.  Our website tool actually allows you to see exactly what you are going to be purchasing before you order.  This is how the design tool works (feel free to visit the site to try it out):

    Letter Art Design Tips

    Monday, October 19th, 2009

    Hi Everybody,

Hope you are all having a great day.  I’m sure that many of you have already thought of someone that you want to purchase a name picture for this upcoming holiday season.  Don’t forget, the more you order the more you save on shipping! Letter Your Legacy is online shopping at its easiest!  We’ll get it to you quickly and I know you will be pleased with the design you have chosen.

There may be some of you out there who have never actually desgined a name picture before on Letter Your Legacy.  Not to worry!  I’ve got some great design tips (that I picked up from our photographer and designer) to share with you.

    Design Tip #1:

Choose an obvious letter picture for the first letter in the name picture. (For example, the “E” in “Evans”) Make it something that is easy to read so that when people see your name picture, they realize that they are reading a name or word.  I’ve provided some examples below.

    Letter Art "E"

    Letter Art "E"

    Letter Art "E"

    Letter Art "E"

Most people are going to see the bottom “E” more quickly than the first one.  However, some people do have a more abstract eye and will enjoy the harder to read letter art.

    Design Tip #2:

Not sure if you want to display your name picture horizontal or vertical? That’s fine, they look fantastic either way! If you are buying a name picture for yourself, think about where you want something new to hang on a wall in your home. For example, maybe you have a skinny wall with no wall hangings on it yet. A vertical frame will look great here!  Or maybe you want to put something over a bleak doorway.  A horizontal frame will be a perfect fit.

Unfortunately when you are buying for someone else, you just don’t know where they are going to put their new name picture (that they love so much).  If they have a very long name (9 or 10 letters), we suggest putting it vertically because they might have an easier time finding a spot for it.  Walls are always tall, but not always wide. Otherwise, I would generally say it is safe to go with horizontal when you choose to purchase nme pictures as a gift. Either way, it’s going to look great in their home!

    More Letter Art Design Tips

    Thursday, October 15th, 2009

    Hi Bloggers,

I hope you all got some great ideas for framed letter art in the last post about design tips.  Design tips are useful, but thankfully Letter Your Legacy framed names are tough to mess up!  Still, I’ve got a few more tips for you to try out the next time you are designing your framed letter art. They might just make using the Letter Your Legacy interactive design tool even easier!

    Design Tip #1:

Choosing the right letter art photos with the right shading can make all the difference in your framed name.  One of the best ways to do this is to alternate your letters with dark and light shading.  Most of our letter art is either a dark letter with a light background or a light letter with a dark background.  By alternating these letters, it gives your framed name more balance.  Still a little confused?  Here are some letter art examples to help explain it…

    Letter Art "E"

    Letter Art "E"

    Letter Art "E"

    Letter Art "E"

Notice how the first “E” has a light background and the bottom one has a dark background.  When designing your framed letter art, this is by no means a design tip you absolutely have to follow.  It’s just one that can help create a cool effect.

    Design Tip #2:

Okay this one I would definately suggest following all the time….when designing your framed letter art from Letter Your Legacy, use a variety of letter art!  There’s no need to use repeated letters even if you have a repeated letter in your last name (ex. Johnson).  When choosing your letter art, be careful to notice that we have different letters taken from the same thing, so they have the exact same style.  Some people can overlook this when designing their framed letter art in a hurry.

    Rustic "A" Letter Art

    Rustic "A" Letter Art

    Rustic "D" Letter Art

    Rustic "D" Letter Art

Notice how this “A” and “D” look exactly the same.  One might be careful not to put them in the same framed name such as “Adams”.

I hope these design tips help!  Enjoy designing your own framed letter art at Letter Your Legacy!.

    Framed Name Gift Ideas Continued

    Thursday, October 8th, 2009

    Hi Bloggers,

I hope you all have thought of some upcoming events that you might need to bring a gift to.  I’m sure a framed name would be the perfect choice!  Here are some more ideas to get you thinking about who else you can buy a framed name for.  At Letter Your Legacy, we make purchasing a gift easy, fun, affordable, and fast.  No more waiting in lines or having to waste an entire afternoon driving to and from different stores.

    Idea #1:

Framed names are an ideal gift to bring to a housewarming party.  When people move into a new house, they want to make it a home right?  What better way to make a family feel at home in their new residence than with a framed name to put on the wall.  Another bonus- if someone moved away from where you are, you can easily get their frame shipped to their new address instead of to you.  Sending them a framed name let’s them know that you miss them and that you wish them well in their new home.

    Idea #2:

How about giving a framed name as an anniversary gift? Maybe you’ve got a parent or grandparent with a milestone anniversary coming up.  Framed names are a great way to celebrate many years together as a couple.  Their name is something very special that they share together, so why not choose from our letter art to create a special wall hanging for them?  Besides, parents and grandparents are always hard to buy for anyway! Framed names are a thoughtful, creative present that won’t go out of style or end up in the garage sale.  Maybe you are the one with an anniversary coming up.  Show your wife or husband that they are special to you and how you love sharing a family name with them by ordering them a framed name.

    Framed Word Art Gift Ideas

    Monday, October 5th, 2009

    Hi Letter Your Legacy shoppers,

I hope you all had a great weekend! I can’t believe its already Fall.  Is the holiday season sneaking up on you as much as it is for us?  November and December are insanely busy times for us at Letter Your Legacy, as I’m sure it is for you too.  I’m betting you’ve already got your travel plans underway for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

    Framed Word Art

    Framed Word Art

I’m guessing that many of you out there love framed word art, but have never actually given one as a gift.  Well, I’ve got some great ideas for gift opportunities to surprise a friend or loved one with a beautiful piece of framed word art.  I hope you get some good ideas from this and will remember for your next opportunity to give a gift.

    Idea #1:

Framed word art makes a great gift for a boss.  Every year you get together with your fellow co-workers to decide what to get the boss (who has everything) for his or her birthday or Christmas. Twice a year you’ve got to put your heads together to get them the perfect gift.  Let framed word art be the next choice for you!  It’s easy, fun, and personal.  Nobody even has to leave the office to get it!  Forget wasting your free time to find a gift for the boss.  Order your framed word art online at www.letteryourlegacy.com.  Another bonus- if you go in on this gift with about 5 other people you will probably end up spending less than $20 each!

    Idea#2:

Framed word art is a great choice for that picky mother-in-law of yours.  Does she always put everything you get her in the closet?  Tired of hearing “I’ll never wear this” or “I can’t figure out how this works”? Framed word art adds a personal touch to show your mother-in-law that you care about her and that you went out of your way to come up with a thoughtful gift.  Another bonus- she never has to wear it or plug it in.

Hope you liked these ideas! My next post will be a couple more gift ideas.

    New Letter Pictures Continued

    Thursday, October 1st, 2009

    Hey Letter Your Legacy fans,

The weekend is almost here! I hope you all are enjoying the first day of October. I’m sure some of you live in states that are getting pretty chilly right about now. It’s still pretty mild here in Oklahoma.

In my last post I introduced some new letter art that we took during our trip to Israel.  I hope you all are as excited as I am about the new letters coming to the website.  Custom photographic word art has never been better!

Here’s another letter art preview for you:  This letter is of a lower case “I” taken in the Jerusalem.

    Letter Art "I"

    Letter Art "I"

Jerusalem was by far one of the coolest cities I have ever been to in my world travel.  Almost everything was so old!  It’s funny to compare to here in the U.S. where our historic buildings are usually only a couple hundred years old, if that.  We got to look at ruins that were thousands of years old!  If any of you out there are travel junkies, Israel is one place you’ve got to see.

Check out the letter picture below of an “X”:

    Letter Art "X"

    Letter Art "X"

If any of you out there are like me, you are wishing you had an “X” in your last name to use this awesome letter picture!  Unfortunately, most of us don’t have an “X” to put in our custom photographic word art.  Still, I wanted to show you all this letter picture because it is so awesome!  This particular letter was taken at a place called Nazareth Village.  It was a interactive, live representation of what Nazareth would have been like in the first century. They had actors dressed up and everything! This “X” was taken at the display of a woman showing how they spun wool and created cloth way back when.

I’ll have more Israel letter pictures to show you all soon! I hope you all will use Letter Your Legacy when designing your own custom photographic word art!
